Clary Sage Essential Oil is extracted by steam distillation from the flowering tops and leaves of Salvia sclarea. It is indigenous to southern Europe and is cultivated for its oil in France and Russia. It is also said to help with skin problems such as acne, boils, and ulcers and soothes painful muscles and joints.

In Jamaica, it was used by the local people to clean and cool ulcers and for inflammation of the eyes.
